Angina If the blockage is partial and there is decreased flow of blood to the heart accompanied by chest pain the condition is called angina
Aspirin A medical drug that helps to thin the blood and helps the blood pass through the blocked arteries. Also used to treat moderate pain
Atheromous Plaque Fatty deposits on the inside lining of arteries, making them narrow or blocked for regular flow of blood
Cardiovascular Diseases Related to the heart or blood vessels (arteries and veins) supplying blood to the heart (heart attack, angina, etc)
Cerebral Arteries Blood vessels supplying blood to the brain
Cerebrovascular Diseases Related to the blood vessels supplying blood to the brain (strokes or paralytic attacks)
Congenital heart disease Malformation of the heart from birth
Coronary Arteries Blood vessels supplying blood to the heart
Coronary heart disease Disease of the blood vessels supplying blood to the heart muscle
Deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism Blood clots in the leg veins, which can move to the heart and lungs
Ischemia Restriction in blood supply
Myocardial Infarction Heart attack
Peripheral arterial disease Disease of blood vessels supplying blood to the arms and legs
Plaque Patches of this fatty deposit are widely known as 'plaques' of atheroma
Rheumatic heart disease Damage to the heart muscle and heart valves from rheumatic fever
Stroke Disease of the blood vessels supplying blood to the brain, which can cause paralysis
Transient Ischaemic Attack A mini-stroke or neurological dysfunction lasting less than 24 hours and caused by a blood clot or formation of fatty deposits in blood vessels supplying blood to the brain
