PSYCHOTIC DISORDERS

Psychotic disorders are diseases that impact the mind of the patients. They alter the persons ability to think clearly and respond to situations in a proper manner. Psychotic disorders affect the rational functioning of the mind in making good judgments communicate in clear terms and respond effectively to situations. Psychotic disorders affect a person’s ability to perceive his surroundings and process information effectively.

In more simple terms, persons suffering from this disorder have difficulty staying in touch with reality and meet the demands of daily life. The two main symptoms of psychotic diseases are delusions ( false beliefs ) and hallucinations ( false perceptions).

The symptoms of psychotic disorders vary from person to person. The main symptoms include incoherent speech, confused thinking and speaking, slowed movements, loss of interest in hygiene and looks, detached approach to situations and mood swings.
